Language
Assyrians have had two languages that they have spoken- ancient Assyrian (Akkadian) and modern Assyrian (neo-syriac). They wrote in cuneiform on clay tablets, until around 750 BC when they began writing on parchment, leather, and papyrus. Their Assyrian languages were created from Aramic, and Aramaic became the official language of Assyria in 752 BC
